This word ‘KORNIK’ in Sanskrit means an instrument to smoothen the rough surface and give an aesthetic touch. No other institution or school has taken the responsibility of promoting such psycho – sensible creative issue ever before at Deoghar. Thus, KORNIK – a School of Fine Arts justify the christening of name by introducing Art for Art sake of the society.
Kornik is the brain child of Paban Roy – the Director and Founder the small Unit founded in the year 1991 with a handful of students has now transformed into a full – fledged school. Affiliated to Bangiya Sangget Parishad (West Bengal ) in the year 1992. It is a cultural wing of R. N. Bose Bangla Library and the most active sector of Kornik Art and Culture Development Society, Registered under the Society Registration Act XXI, 1860(Jharkhand Government) in the year 2006. Its also certified by ISO 9001:2015.Its motto of bringing about a mass awareness towards the promotion of arts, crafts and culture has successfully scaled the heights of success and popularity in the district state and now the whole country.
Seminars, workshops, training camps and cultural programmes attended by various reputed artists hailing from different parts of the country are usual phenomena to boost up the spirit, enthusiasm and moral of its students. Above all a flamboyant Art- Exhibition, organized by kornik family is the most color event.
